Trailer Review: The Burning Plain More a Small Candle

Charlize Theron in The Burning PlainI just watched the movie trailer to The Burning Plain, the upcoming romantic drama starring Kim Basinger and Charlize Theron, and all I can say is… meh.

Actually, I watched the trailer about 20 minutes ago or so, and now I can’t recall a single important thing from the entire trailer. I remember Charlize Theron screwing around with another dude, and Kim Basinger screwing around with another dude, and a couple friends telling a young guy that he needs to stop seeing his girlfriend… oh, and there’s a plane crash in a field, which I’m guessing is where the movie’s title comes from.

The Burning Plain has some potential, but the trailer doesn’t give much hope. Learn more about The Burning Plain or go here to watch The Burning Plain trailer. The film will be released in limited theaters on September 17, 2009.

You can’t judge a book by it’s trailer….I thought this was a very well written screenplay, great actors and parallel story line keesp you captivated. The director uses water, fire, earth in interesting ways. And the Burning Plain is not about a burning plane as you suggest. Go watch the movie. You may like it.

  • Hi Barbara,

Thanks for the comment. I actually have the movie on my Netflix list – thanks for the recommendation.

What worries me more about my review is that I misspelled “plane,” which is pretty sad in its own right.
