The Top Ten Movies of 2010

No. 9. Casino Jack and the United States of Money

Not to be confused with the terrible Kevin Spacey drama about the same topic, this documentary is from Oscar-winning filmmaker Alex Gibney (Taxi to the Dark Side, Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room) and examines the rise and fall of lobbyist Jack Abramoff – oh, and his suspicious connections to several politicians. Gibney presents the material in any easy-to-understand but entertaining way, which is why the movie is just so damn engrossing.

Good to hear from you! I actually haven’t seen “Get Low” yet – didn’t catch it in theaters and it doesn’t come out on DVD (or at least on Netflix) until 2/22 – but it’s at the top my queue to check out.

Kick-Ass I really enjoyed, but it didn’t quite make the cut. The Book of Eli I thought was OK until it fell apart near the end.
