Well, that was fast. After a slew of pictures found their way online, Walt Disney Studios and Marvel have released the first trailer – well, an extended teaser trailer – for The Avengers, in theaters May 4, 2012. The movie brings together Iron Man (Robert Downey, Jr.), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Captain America (Chris Evans), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) and Black Widow (Scalett Johansson) to protect the world from Loki.
I’ve been one of the film’s biggest skeptics – and I’m still convinced the movie can be pulled off – but the teaser trailer is pretty badass. Huge explosions. Funny quips from Downey. Loki looking really pissed off. Scarlett Johansson in black leather.
I’m sold.
