Paramount Pictures has released the latest trailer for the upcoming action-thriller Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol. The movie, which stars Tom Cruise, Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg and Paula Patton, is about a massive terrorist attack that causes the IMF to be disbanded and Ethan Hunt and his team to go on the run to prove their innocence.
The new Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol trailer manages to show more action and explosions but reveals little more about the plot, which is a good thing. The movie looks exciting and I’m eager to see what director Brad Bird (The Incredibles) does with his first live-action production. On the flip side, there is something about the marketing for this film that rubs me the wrong way. From the Eminem soundtrack in the teaser trailer and the stop-and-go pacing in this full trailer, to the overly glossy posters, there is just a hint of desperation to it all. The concern, hopefully, is unfounded, but the marketing has yet to get me salivating over this project.
Watch the new trailer below and let us know what you think:
Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol comes to IMAX theaters on December 16 and regular theaters on December 21, 2011.
