No. 12. Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

Abraham Lincoln was a great president. Only neo-Nazis and those people who insist on putting the Confederate Flag on their pickup truck think otherwise. But even they would be swayed if they knew the truth: Lincoln also was responsible for saving America from a vampire epidemic.

Overachieving bastard.

Why see it?

Beside the awesome plot, the movie is based on a pretty cool book that blends history and fiction together incredibly seamlessly. Then again, the movie could end up sucking. Get it. Sucking.

No. 11. G.I. Joe: Retaliation

The G.I. Joe team returns, this time with The Rock and Bruce Willis.

Why see it?
After the Stephen Sommers POS (piece-of-shit), I vowed to never watch another G.I. Joe movie again. But the combination of firing Sommers, taking things more seriously and some inspired casting has turned this half-sequel/half-reboot into one of the more curious movies of the summer.

No. 10. The Amazing Spider-Man

Ever wanted to know how Spider-Man came to be? Ignore those other Spider-Man movies. Marc Webb (500 Days of Summer) is going back to the beginning, again, to show how Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) came to be the webbed wonder. This time, he’ll hook up with Gwen Stacey (Emma Stone) and battle The Lizard (Rhys Ifans).

Why see it?
No one really asked for a reboot, but with a promise of something darker and grittier, Marvel has gotten my attention.

No. 9. Total Recall

A man decides to go on a vacation in his head and ends up unleashing a torrent of erased memories that reveal his true identity – and his ability to kick ass in the face of danger.

Why see it?
At first, the thought of remaking the Arnold Schwarzenegger classic sounded ridiculous, but this new version looks different enough to stand on its own.
