The 10 Best Matt Damon Movies

No. 6. Ocean’s Eleven (2001)

Matt Damon is just one of many – I forget the number – stars in this crime-comedy ensemble, but there’s no denying that the slick directing by Steven Soderbergh and even wittier writing by Ted Griffin and Stephen W. Carpenter make Ocean’s Eleven one of Damon’s best.

No. 5. The Departed (2006)

Matt Damon gets to play the villain for a change in Martin Scorsese’s Oscar winner about undercover cops and undercover bad guys, and he keeps pace with Leonardo DiCaprio at every turn. Leo may get the glory for this movie, but Damon deserves just as much credit.

No. 4. Rounders (1998)

Matt Damon. Ed Norton. Need I say more? Ugh… fine. Gambling. Poker. John Malkovich with an eccentric Russian accent. Is that enough?

  • Seriously Saving Private Ryan? You mentioned it but still, he plays like 5 minutes in the movie? What about The Talented Mr. Ripley? He was brilliant. And Invictus?

Bravo! Bourne reigns supreme! But let’s not remember his comedic side in Brothers Grimm alongside Heath Ledger. A happy viewer they made some lucky guy!

He’s glorious in dogma. And also gave an awesome performance in the informant. But seriously.. dogma is number one.

He still plays a pretty pivotal role in Saving Private Ryan, but your point is valid. I need to re-watch Talented Mr. Riply – very good. Invictus… nothing special.
