Watch the Oz Great and Powerful Trailer!

July 13th, 2012
oz-great-and-powerful

Even after all this time, we’re [thankfully] not quite ready for a Wizard of Oz remake, but that’s not stopping Sam Raimi for directing the colorful Oz Great and Powerful, about a small-time circus magician named Oscar (James Franco) who is swept by – you guessed it – a tornado into the fantastical Land of Oz.

Watch the New Kick-Ass Total Recall Trailer

June 28th, 2012
total-recall

When the Total Recall remake was announced, I thought it was a terrible idea. The Arnold Schwarzenegger version is still a blast, so why fix what ain’t broke? But then the trailer was released, and the Colin Farrell-starring action film didn’t look half bad. A rip-off of The Fifth Element and Blade Runner perhaps, but not half bad.

flight-denzel-washington

Is Robert Zemeckis finally back? The evil spirit that took control of the Back to the Future director for the last decade has apparently been vanquished, at least temporarily, for Zemeckis’ first non-motion capture movie since 2000′s Cast Away arrives this November in the form of Flight, a serious drama about a plane crash and starring Denzel Washington.

Watch the Wreck-It Ralph Trailer

June 7th, 2012
wreck-it-ralph

Wreck-It Ralph is your typical 80′s video game villain. People love to hate him, he gets conquered by the good guy, and he’s extremely pixelated. In Disney’s new animated film, John C. Reilly voices the bad guy of one such game who decides he no longer wants to be a bad guy, and sets out into the world of video games to find his true calling. It’s like Tron, except the characters are already inside the computer.

April 19th, 2012
worst-movie-trailers

It may be early in the year to be making a list like this, but we are only 1/4 of the way through 2012 and most of the previews I have seen for summer blockbusters have been lame to say the least. Lets take a look at this year’s worst movie trailers so far:

avengers-black-widow

You probably haven’t heard, but there’s this small indie film called The Avengers debuting in a few theaters on May 4. Yeah. It’ll probably make a few million dollars if it’s lucky. Its overseas gross will be pretty paltry. Nonetheless, this entity called Marvel seems to be obsessed with marketing this movie, to the point
where they’ve released four new movie clips from the superhero film – and two new featurettes.

Universal Pictures has released a new trailer for the upcoming Seth MacFarlane comedy Ted, which stars Mark Wahlberg as a man who has a talking teddy bear as a best friend. Mila Kunis plays his girlfriend, and she wants the crude, prostitute-loving bear out of the house, and understandably so. He’s obnoxious and not very funny, much like the movie trailer

Watch the New Full-Length Prometheus Trailer

March 17th, 2012
prometheus

Ridley Scott is returning to the sci-fi genre for the first time in decades with the highly anticipated movie Prometheus. You may recall that Scott is responsible for such classics as Alien and Blade Runner. In fact, Prometheus was originally intended to be a prequel to Alien, though it has evolved into something that appears to be much more epic in scope, set in the same universe but not necessarily featuring those same pesky acid-bleeding, mouth-in-mouth-in-mouth aliens.
