Watch the New Battleship Trailer

March 14th, 2012
battleship-rihanna

The third movie trailer for the upcoming action flick Battleship is now online. Every time a new preview is released, it looks more and more like Transformers – and doesn’t even try to hide it. "From the studio that brought you Transformers" is their big marketing pitch, which

is rather disconcerting given that they’re basically saying, "We couldn’t make another Transformers this year, so you get this copycat product instead."

March 12th, 2012
cabin-in-the-woods

In addition to the new movie trailer that was released last week, we’ve added several new stills from the upcoming horror movie Cabin in the Woods, which looks like your ordinary stupid-young-sexy-and-horny-kids-go-to-a-cabin-in-the-woods-and-get-slaughtered-one-by-one slasher film until it doesn’t. After all, the kids have been baited into a virtual world where men unseen control everything that happens.

Men in Black 3 Trailer Says It’s Time to End this Franchise

March 6th, 2012
men-in-black-3

I loved the first Men in Black movie. Its sequel, the intelligently titled Men in Black 2, was mediocre at best, but still entertaining at times. Now, Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones are back for another dose of J and K, but I have a feeling I’ll be less interested in the film’s time travel storyline and more interested in checking my watch to see how much longer remains before I can leave the theater and do something more entertaining.

March 6th, 2012
ice-age-continental-drift

Scrat and the rest of the gang are back in yet another unnecessary sequel to the lackluster Ice Age movies
, which is nearly assured to make a boatload of money and keep this franchise afloat for another several years. We gave the first Ice Age movie a C+, its sequel The Meltdown the same grade, and Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs a scathing C-.

The first trailer for one of the most anticipated movies of 2012 is here: The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. The action-drama follows a younger Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) as he leaves the Shire with Gandalf and seven thirteen dwarves on a grand, but allegedly unexpected, journey. More notably, it’s the prequel to The Lord of the Rings trilogy, which was also directed by Peter Jackson.

G.I. Joe 2 Trailer Suggests Better Times Ahead

December 16th, 2011
gi-joe-2-the-rock

G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra sucked. There, I said it. And no, I’ve never said it before. Or predicted it long before it was released. Between the terrible special effects, the ludicrous plot, the sandpaper acting and the sheer awfulness of it all, G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra was the epitome of suckage, if suckage were a word.

Aliens. Explosions. Lots of special effects. It’s Battleship, 2012′s response to Transformers. A new movie trailer for the upcoming Peter Berg film is now online, and it practically pleads with the audience to go see it because it bears some resemblance to the Michael Bay franchise, going as far as to say “From HASBRO, the company that brought you Transformers.”

December 9th, 2011

It sounded like a bad idea from the beginning. Now there’s a movie trailer to prove it.

November 16th, 2011

The good news is that Mirror Mirror looks considerably different from its competitor Snow White and the Huntsman, to the degree that no one will confuse the two movies. The bad news is that the trailer pales in comparison in every possible way to the other movie’s trailer that debuted just last week.

The Hunger Games Trailer Redeems Itself

November 16th, 2011
hunger-games-jennifer-lawrence

A few months ago during one of MTV’s stupid awards shows, Lionsgate foolishly released a “teaser trailer” promoting the highly anticipated 2012 release of The Hunger Games. The marketing engine had been building strong buzz for months leading up to the awards show and had been quite effective at doing so – I’d never heard of the books before but even I was starting to believe in the hype.
