October 26th, 2011
chronicle-poster

But in a good way. If you haven’t watched the movie trailer for the upcoming movie Chronicle, which comes to theaters on February 3, 2012, you should do so now. It’s about three teenage friends who stumble across something very mysterious and begin to develop superpowers – namely invincibility, flight and the ability to move things with their minds. While their newfound abilities make for great fun, things begin to spiral out of control, especially when one friend takes things too far.

Who Likes Exorcism? The Devil Inside Trailer

October 17th, 2011
devil-inside

I’m an atheist but by God I love me some exorcisms! If God exists, that means the Devil exists, and if the Devil exists, that means crazy sh*t like what happens in exorcism movies could actually occur, which means… well, let’s not even go there. The first trailer for Paramount Pictures’ upcoming horror movie The Devil Inside is now available for your viewing pleasure.

Oh, and it’s freaky as hell itself. Not that I’ve been there. Yet.

Pies Beware: The American Reunion Red Band Trailer!

October 14th, 2011
american-reunion

Jason Biggs. Porn. Tube socks. American Pie is back.

American Reunion, the fourth movie in the American Pie franchise, comes to theaters April 2012. The entire cast from the original – Jason Biggs, Seann William Scott, Alyson Hannigan, Eugene Levy, Thomas Ian Nicholas, Tara Reid, Chris Klein, Mena Suvari and Jennifer Coolidge – are returning, though “entire” isn’t exactly accurate. Noticeably missing is Shannon Elizabeth, however. That’s a shame.

Glenn Close is Albert Nobbs, and Trailer to Prove It

October 13th, 2011
albert-nobbs

Glenn Close has always been a bit mannish. Yes, even when she played the “hot” psychopath in Fatal Attraction. But the acclaimed actress is taking things to the extreme in Albert Nobbs, where she plays a woman who poses as a man to get by in 19th century Ireland. After 30 years, however, she realizes she’s become trapped in her own guise.

Albert Nobbs has Oscar written all over it. Glenn Close is a great actress, and the Academy loves actresses who ugly themselves down for a role. [EDITOR'S NOTE: Albert Nobbs comes to theaters January 27, 2012, which would make it ineligible for this year's Oscars. But we're assuming it will have a qualifying run in 2011] But watch the new trailer for yourself and tell us what you think.

Well, that was fast. New The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo Trailer

September 25th, 2011
girl-with-the-dragon-tattoo

OK, so it’s not that new in respect to entertainment news. It was released several days ago, but since I have other things on my mind than posting movie trailers, I’m just getting to it now.

The first full-length trailer – and at nearly four minutes, it’s a long one – for the David Fincher version of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo – is now online. It shows quite a lot of the movie, but is edited in a way that doesn’t entirely ruin the plot for people who haven’t read the books – or who haven’t seen the original movies.

I’m Not Hungry for The Hunger Games

August 29th, 2011

The first teaser trailer for The Hunger Games has debuted, but it’s not making me thirsty for more.

The Jennifer Lawrence-starring futuristic action movie has so far been marketed as the next Harry Potter franchise we should be so desperately wanting to see.

The Woman in Black is One Scary Woman

August 18th, 2011

Harry Potter is gone, but Daniel Radcliffe is still around, and if this new trailer is any indication, he may be around for a while.

In The Woman in Black, Radcliffe stars as a Victorian-era man who moves into an extremely haunted house. That’s the plot, but the marketing team at CBS Films has assembled an absolutely stellar teaser trailer to make it stand out from the rest in the genre.

August 5th, 2011

This caught my eye: The Sitter, the “filthiest babysitter movie ever”. Awesome. I mean, like porn-awesome.

But wait! It stars Jonah Hill.

Talk about limp noodle.

By now, everyone, their mother and Osama bin Laden (can’t make that crack anymore) has seen the teaser trailer for The Dark Knight Rises, judging by the hundreds of millions of dollars Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 earned over the weekend. The Thing 2011 Trailer

July 15th, 2011
the-thing-2011

The first trailer for the horror remake/prequel The Thing is now online. The first thing I noticed: it looks a hell of a lot like the John Carpenter version. The second thing I noticed: it doesn’t look as good as the John Carpenter version. That’s not at all surprising.

Steven Spielberg’s War Horse Trailer is Boring

June 30th, 2011
war-horse

The first trailer for Steven Spielberg’s War Horse is now online. The movie is almost assured multiple Oscar nominations due to the pedigree alone, let alone the “feel good” nature of the story. There’s understandable excitement for the picture, as there should be due to the director alone.

So why am I so disinterested in this property?

Watch the Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol Trailer!

June 28th, 2011
mission-impossible-ghost-protocol

The first trailer for the upcoming action movie Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol is now online, and it looks… pretty damn awesome. The choice of music is a bit questionable, but it’s clear the marketing team is trying to separate itself from the last three films.

New Captain America Trailer and Poster

June 24th, 2011
captain-america

Is anyone else looking forward to Captain America: The First Avenger? After Thor, which was good but merely a prelude to something bigger, X-Men: First Class, which was okay but a little disappointing, and Green Lantern, which was… well, it is what it is… Captain America is this year’s last opportunity to deliver a blow-your-socks-off superhero story.

Statham, De Niro Are the Killer Elite (Trailer and Pics)

June 24th, 2011
killer-elite

At first glance, it may look like a typical Jason Statham movie. But then you realize Robert De Niro is in it. Oh, and Clive Owen, too. Suddenly, Killer Elite looks just a little bit better.

The first movie trailer for Killer Elite is now online, and it doesn’t look half-bad. The plot involves Jason Statham taking off his shirt and kicking, punching and shooting people, Clive Owen being bad with a nasty mustache and Robert De Niro playing the old mentor who has been kidnapped.
