Review: ‘Star Trek Into Darkness’, or Into Blasphemy

May 16th, 2013

So this little film called Star Trek Into Darkness is now in theaters, and it features among other things a scary performance by baddie Benedict Cumberbatch, lots of entertaining action scenes and the most horrendously bad ending in the entire franchise. Whether you can forgive the movie for its final 20 soul-sucking minutes will determine whether you’ll give Star Trek a positive or negative grade.

Start Trek Into Darkness Poster and Teaser Trailer

December 4th, 2012

Paramount Pictures has released the cool new movie poster for Star Trek Into Darkness, the sequel to the hit sci-fi action movie that debuts in 2013. I acknowledge that I am not the first to point this out, but it looks like the villain (Benedict Cumberbatch) has laid waste to Gotham city, not unlike what is seen in several of the Dark Knight Rises movie posters. The Raven, starring John Cusack, lurks its way into theaters on April 27, 2012!

The macabre and lurid tales of Edgar Allan Poe are vividly brought to life – and death – in this stylish, gothic thriller starring John Cusack as the infamous author. When a madman begins committing horrific murders inspired by Poe’s darkest works, a young Baltimore detective (Luke Evans) joins forces with Poe in a quest to get inside the killer’s mind in order to stop him from making every one of Poe’s brutal stories a blood chilling reality.  A deadly game of cat and mouse ensues, which escalates when Poe’s love (Alice Eve, She’s Out of My League) becomes the next target. Intrepid Pictures’ The Raven also stars Brendan Gleeson (In Bruges) and Oliver Jackson-Cohen (Faster).

She’s Out of My League Movie Review

March 21st, 2010

She's Out of My League. Damn right she is.There’s unfunny, and then there’s painfully unfunny, and the new R-rated romantic comedy She’s Out of My League falls somewhere between the two. A derivative of Knocked Up, about an awkward young man who finds himself with a much hotter girlfriend, the movie is two hours worth of forced dialogue and flat jokes. Stay away. Stay very far away.
