In May, Universal Pictures released a sci-fi action movie with a $260 million budget with the misguided thinking that people wanted to watch a cheesy movie based on a nearly unrelated classic Hasbro game. This said movie, which will remain nameless until the next sentence, earned $300 million worldwide, but after marketing and print costs are taken into account, it can only be described as a massive flop.

Battleship explodes onto theaters May 18, 2012! The third movie trailer for the upcoming action flick Battleship is now online. Every time a new preview is released, it looks more and more like Transformers – and doesn’t even try to hide it. "From the studio that brought you Transformers" is their big marketing pitch, which

is rather disconcerting given that they’re basically saying, "We couldn’t make another Transformers this year, so you get this copycat product instead."
