For those of you who were wise enough not to watch the MTV Movie Awards, the first Hunger Games: Catching Fire teaser trailer is now online for your viewing pleasure. The teaser (which, at two and a half minutes is hardly a teaser) sells the movie well – in fact, incredibly well.

Review: ‘The Details’ is Better Than the Title Suggests

It’s the inevitable spiral effect: what begins with raccoons will eventually end in murder. Tobey Maguire stars in The Details, a surprisingly entertaining film where its biggest fault is its generically awful title. The movie also stars Elizabeth Banks, Kerry Washington, Ray Liotta, Laura Linney and Dennis Haysbert.

Man on a Ledge Pushes Me to the Edge

I am 29 years old. I am single. It’s Thursday night as I write this, and I should be out at the bars hitting on beautiful women, or at least lusting after them from afar. Instead, I’m sitting at home writing a stupid review about a stupid movie, thinking about what could have been had I not chosen to go watch Man on the Ledge, a mildly entertaining but laughably dumb crime thriller starring Sam Worthington.

Our Idiot Brother Movie Review

A pothead hippie idealist who was stupid enough to sell drugs to a uniformed police officer is released from jail and integrates not-so-seamlessly into the lives of his three sisters in Our Idiot Brother, a surprisingly thoughtful comedy that doesn’t stir up a lot of laughs but is genuinely enjoyable nonetheless.

The Hunger Games Trailer Redeems Itself

A few months ago during one of MTV’s stupid awards shows, Lionsgate foolishly released a “teaser trailer” promoting the highly anticipated 2012 release of The Hunger Games. The marketing engine had been building strong buzz for months leading up to the awards show and had been quite effective at doing so – I’d never heard of the books before but even I was starting to believe in the hype.

I’m Not Hungry for The Hunger Games

The first teaser trailer for The Hunger Games has debuted, but it’s not making me thirsty for more.

The Jennifer Lawrence-starring futuristic action movie has so far been marketed as the next Harry Potter franchise we should be so desperately wanting to see.
