After surviving the candy house and the evil witch within, Hansel and Gretel have grown up to be two attractive witch hunters who like to swear, kill witches and repeatedly get the shit beaten out of them. Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton star in the wannabe franchise starter Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, a movie that suffers from painfully clunky dialogue and, amazingly, too much action.

Review: ‘The Bourne Legacy’ Hits Blu-ray

When it was announced that a fourth Jason Bourne movie was being developed without star Matt Damon or director Paul Greengrass, I was worried. When it was announced that returning writer Tony Gilroy was taking over the directing reigns and making a Jason Bourne movie that would include its main character, I was ready to throw in the towel. Having now watched The Bourne Legacy, I wish Universal Pictures would have thrown in the towel long ago.

The Avengers Shatters Box Office Records

Thor’s hammer, Iron Man’s steel, the Hulk’s smash, Captain America’s patriotism and Black Widow’s cleavage combined for quite a wallop over the weekend as The Avengers opened to $200.3 million at the domestic box office over the weekend, according to BoxOffice.com. That blows past the $169.2 record held by last year’s Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, and sets a whole new benchmark for what defines a blockbuster.

It’s a tried and true method to bring the world close to nuclear disaster, only to fail at the last second thanks to a relentless hero. In Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol, Tom Cruise returns as Ethan Hunt to stop a nuclear terrorist. The plot may not be new, but director Brad Bird has delivered an exceptionally fun and high-adrenaline action movie that should not be missed.

After a slew of pictures found their way online, Walt Disney Studios and Marvel have released the first trailer – well, an extended teaser trailer – for The Avengers, in theaters May 4, 2012. The movie brings together Iron Man (Robert Downey, Jr.), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Captain America (Chris Evans), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) and Black Widow (Scalett Johansson) to protect the world from Loki.
