A boy named Norman sees dead people. He battles an evil witch and a pack of zombies. But Norman isn’t in a horror flick; he’s the main character in the family film ParaNorman, a beautifully crafted and imaginative stop-motion-capture movie that, while far from groundbreaking, is fun to watch.

Review: Argo Sets the Best Picture Bar

Tense. Thrilling. Entertaining. Serious. Funny. Ben Affleck has a legitimate Oscar contender on his hands in the form of Argo, a movie that is not only his most accessible film but also his best suited to appeal to Oscar voters. About a so-absurd-it-has-to-be-real CIA mission to extract six American hostages from Iran, Argo is at once timely and nail-bitingly fun.

Arachnophobia Blu-Ray Offers 7 Minutes of Bonus Features

A vintage 1990′s classic made its Blu-ray debut last week. Disney said, “so what?”

Arachnophobia is the best spider movie of all time, and it still stands the test of time. Yes, it’s a bit goofy, a bit cheesy, but even still it makes you want to check that popcorn before you stick your hand in the bowl and the shower faucet in the morning. As silly as it is – John Goodman plays a wisecracking exterminator – the movie lives up to its name.
