Two movies directed by Joe Wright have been nominated for Best Picture at the Academy Awards. Both of those movies starred Keira Knightley. Keira Knightley has been nominated for one Oscar. That performance was from Pride & Prejudice, directed by Joe Wright. Good things happen when the two join forces and they are back for an adaptation of Leo Tolstoy’s Anna Karenina.

Santa Claus. The Tooth Fairy. The Easter Bunny. And… Jack Frost??? Children love the jolly fat man who breaks into their homes to bring them presents, the creepy gnat that sneaks into their rooms at night, watches them sleeps and then steals their teeth in exchange for money and the animal that poops out tasty, chocolate-filled eggs for their consumption. Little attention is ever paid to the guy who causes snow days.

Scorsese’s ‘Hugo’ Will Put You to Sleep

November 26th, 2011
hugo

Martin Scorsese is responsible for several of modern cinema’s greatest masterpieces. He’s an exquisite filmmaker, one with an uncanny eye for drama, suspense and unearthing raw emotion. Inexplicably, he’s also responsible for the children’s movie Hugo, one of the most boring and pointless movies of the year.

The world is more connected than ever. Thousands of flights occur every day, connecting people from one corner of the globe to the other. Products, materials and food are shipped overseas by the minute. No place is too far away. In other words, it’s the perfect storm for a super virus to wipe out much of humanity, as depicted in the new Steven Soderbergh film Contagion.
