Oz, the Great and Powerful Movie Review

March 8th, 2013
oz-great-and-powerful

What does $325 million buy you these days? A groundbreaking prequel to The Wizard of Oz, or an unimaginative orgy of cartoonish special effects starring James Franco playing James Franco? Oz the Great and Powerful is more the latter than the former.

A Very Late ‘Ted’ Movie Review

December 28th, 2012
ted-2012

It took me a while to see Ted. I saw the movie in early August, several weeks after most people had tired of raving about it. It took me even longer to review it, as it’s now December at time of writing. As a result, I apologize in advance for the brevity of this review, and its lack of detail.

Watch the Oz Great and Powerful Trailer!

July 13th, 2012
oz-great-and-powerful

Even after all this time, we’re [thankfully] not quite ready for a Wizard of Oz remake, but that’s not stopping Sam Raimi for directing the colorful Oz Great and Powerful, about a small-time circus magician named Oscar (James Franco) who is swept by – you guessed it – a tornado into the fantastical Land of Oz.

Watch the New ‘Ted’ Trailer. Or Don’t.

April 5th, 2012
ted-movie

Universal Pictures has released a new trailer for the upcoming Seth MacFarlane comedy Ted, which stars Mark Wahlberg as a man who has a talking teddy bear as a best friend. Mila Kunis, Sex, and a Friends With Benefits Movie Review

December 5th, 2011
friends-with-benefits

Sex. Mila Kunis. Sex. Body double nudity. We can pretend. Mila Kunis. Thankfully, Friends and Benefits is that and more. A self-aware romantic comedy that also stars Justin Timberlake, Friends and Benefits is a surprisingly entertaining movie that works more often than not, even though it falls victim to the one rule it doesn’t break: predictability.

New Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis Black Swan Photos

November 15th, 2010

If you haven’t watched the movie trailer for the upcoming drama-thriller Black Swan, do so now (you can watch the Black Swan movie trailer here). Why? Because it looks absolutely badass. Natalie Portman stars as a ballet dancer who… shall we say… has some self esteem issues. When a new girl arrives (played by Mila Kunis), her life self destructs in horrific ways. The movie is directed by Darren Aronofsky (Requiem for a Dream and The Wrestler), so it has the potential to be one of the best movies of the year and a potential Oscar contender.

We’ve added several new images of Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis to the movie’s photo gallery. View the Black Swan photos now.

Mike Judge’s Extract: A Blu-Ray Bonus Features Review

December 23rd, 2009

Mila Kunis in ExtractThis should be quick and painless. Extract, Mike Judge’s latest comedy, is now available on DVD and Blu-Ray, just in time for Christmas. As a harmless stocking stuffer, Extract has enough to satisfy: high-concept jokes, some shenanigans and Mila Kunis looking really, really good in flannel. The movie bears some similarities to Office Space, which, unfortunately, results in it paling in comparison to Judge’s masterpiece, but it is funny in its own right – as long as you like Mike Judge movies. The comedy isn’t for everyone, but it’s well worth a viewing. Purchasing? Perhaps not.
