April 24th, 2013
thor-2

Thor is back, and so is Natalie Portman looking all Natalie Portman-ish! Disney and Marvel have released the first action-packed teaser trailer for Thor: The Dark World, which looks like the first one only with an even badder bad guy. The teaser isn’t all that great in the scheme of things, but it has some juicy nuggets.

No Strings Attached, No Thank You

June 2nd, 2011

Natalie Portman. Friend with benefits. Yes, please. Ashton Kutcher, same arrangement. I’ll pass. The same goes for No Strings Attached, a harmless but utterly forgettable romantic comedy starring the Oscar winner and winning replacement for Charlie Sheen.

The Other Woman Movie Review

May 17th, 2011

Hot off her Oscar-winning performance in Black Swan – but before she actually won the prestigious award – Natalie Portman delivered another fine performance in a small, limited release drama called The Other Woman. While not original, the movie is a surprisingly effective tale of a young woman struggling to overcome the grief of losing her child – and another testament to Portman’s acting ability.

Thor: The Movie Review

May 7th, 2011

Testosterone and thunder collide with the release of Thor, the first official blockbuster of the summer movie season and a precursor to next year’s The Avengers. The movie, curiously helmed by Shakespearean director Kenneth Branagh, is an entertaining start to the season but unfortunately not the knock-your-socks action extravaganza you may be expecting.

April 6th, 2011
your-highness-natalie-portman

Throughout history, tales of chivalry have burnished the legends of brave, handsome knights who rescue fair damsels, slay dragons and conquer evil. But behind many a hero is a good-for-nothing younger brother trying just to stay out of the way of those dragons, evil and trouble in general.

Danny McBride and James Franco team up for an epic comedy adventure set in a fantastical world - Your Highness – in theaters April 8. Oh, and we’re giving away prizes.

The 20 Best Performances of 2010

February 23rd, 2011
best-performances-of-2010

The 83rd Academy Awards are this weekend, which means by the end of Sunday four actors will have been chosen to be the best among the tens of thousands of players who performed in movies in 2010. But while a spattering of people here and there see the Oscars as the ultimate award show, we know better… there is no higher privilege than being selected by FilmJabber.

We might not have fancy awards shows or alcohol-and-drug-fueled after parties (I’m just saying that to steer the police off course!) or beautiful women in sexy dresses or Jack Nicholson, but FilmJabber’s list is just the best. Take our word for it.

Without further ado, here are the top 20 performances of 2010…

New Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis Black Swan Photos

November 15th, 2010

If you haven’t watched the movie trailer for the upcoming drama-thriller Black Swan, do so now (you can watch the Black Swan movie trailer here). Why? Because it looks absolutely badass. Natalie Portman stars as a ballet dancer who… shall we say… has some self esteem issues. When a new girl arrives (played by Mila Kunis), her life self destructs in horrific ways. The movie is directed by Darren Aronofsky (Requiem for a Dream and The Wrestler), so it has the potential to be one of the best movies of the year and a potential Oscar contender.

We’ve added several new images of Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis to the movie’s photo gallery. View the Black Swan photos now.

Big Casting News

July 13th, 2009

Natalie PortmanSeveral big casting announcements were made today, the most notable being that Natalie Portman will play Jane Foster in the upcoming comic book adaptation Thor. Foster will play the main love interest in the film. While I’m not excited about the project, at least it now has some female eye candy.
