Margin Call Movie Review

The world is in an ecomonic rut. Maybe you noticed? Though the pieces were set long before Lehman Brothers collapsed in September 2008, the firm’s bankruptcy is commonly considered the action that set the dominoes in motion. In Margin Call, writer/director J.C. Chandor explores one day in a large, unnamed financial organization <ahem, cough, Lehman Brothers> as its employees and executives realize that it’s about to take a nosedive.

Priest Movie Review: Not So Heavenly

Paul Bettany is at it again, trying to be a Goody Two-Shoes by saving humanity from eternal damnation in Priest, on DVD and Blu-Ray this week. If Priest looks a lot like 2009′s Legion, which starred Bettany as an angel trying to save humanity from eternal damnation, you’re not alone. And like Legion, Priest falls short of its intended goal, whatever it was, seemingly satisfied with being mediocre.

Paul Bettany’s Many Angelic Roles, and Giveaway!

Paul Bettany has a thing for God. That much is clear. His new movie Priest, in which he plays a priest in a dystopian future where vampires and a corrupt church are in constant battle, opens in theaters today. Last year, he played an angel who attempts to fend off an army of demons in Legion. In The Da Vinci Code, he played an obsessively dedicated servant of God. And in The Reckoning, he plays a priest in medieval times.
