Steven Soderbergh’s Side Effects is a twisty, alluring psychological thriller that is also the first must-see movie of 2013.

Side Effects is about Emily and Martin (Rooney Mara and Channing Tatum), a successful New York couple whose world unravels when a new drug prescribed by Emily’s psychiatrist (Jude Law) – intended to treat anxiety – has unexpected side effects.

The Best Performances of 2011

It’s true that the ultimate prize any actor can receive is an Academy Award. And yet, this year’s Oscars prove more than most that even the best performances can go overlooked. Seven of the top ten actors listed here were not nominated for an Academy Award, and only nine of the 20 actors who were nominated (for Best Actor in a Leading Role, Best Actress in a Leading Role, Best Actor in a Supporting Role and Best Actress in a Supporting Role) earned a place on this coveted list.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo Movie Review

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, not to be confused with the 2009 movie The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, based on the same book only in a different language, is now in theaters, and while at first glance the necessity of an English-language remake appears questionable, director David Fincher establishes early on why audiences should care: his version is simply better.

New The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo Trailer

OK, so it’s not that new in respect to entertainment news. It was released several days ago, but since I have other things on my mind than posting movie trailers, I’m just getting to it now.

The first full-length trailer – and at nearly four minutes, it’s a long one – for the David Fincher version of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo – is now online. It shows quite a lot of the movie, but is edited in a way that doesn’t entirely ruin the plot for people who haven’t read the books – or who haven’t seen the original movies.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo Red Band Trailer!

A videotaped version of David Fincher’s The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo red band trailer has finally found its way online. The movie trailer is apparently playing in European theaters (though that’s to be disputed, given that it has a red MPAA label), and it’s rumored that the American green band trailer will debut next week with X-Men: First Class.
