If you ever wanted to see Seth Rogen in a serious movie… If you ever wanted to see Michelle Williams in yet another emotional drama… If you ever wanted to see full frontal nudity from Sarah Silverman… there’s Take This Waltz, the second full-length feature from Sarah Polley. At times cute, others moving, Take This Waltz is a mesmerizing little movie. I just wish I could remember how it ended.

50/50: A Funny Movie About Cancer

February 6th, 2012
50-50

Cancer is no laughing matter. Life, however, is. In 50/50, which can best be described as a “cancer comedy”, director Jonathan Levine and writer Will Reiser prove that disease can be just as humorous as it is frightening. 50/50 is one of the best movies of 2011.

Paul: An Out-Of-This-World Movie Review

August 9th, 2011
paul

Shaun of the Dead is one of my favorite movies. I thoroughly enjoyed the next Simon Pegg/Nick Frost satire Hot Fuzz. Needless to say, I had high hopes for Paul, their latest collaboration, a sci-fi spoof from the director of Superbad. Unfortunately, Paul is about as funny as a wisecracking alien. Which isn’t very funny at all.

For those of you who were skeptical about Seth Rogen as superhero The Green Hornet, now’s your chance. The movie is now available on DVD and Blu-Ray, which means you can buy it or rent it or watch it and love it forever. Or at least for two hours, which is how long the movie is.

The Green Hornet Movie Review

January 16th, 2011
green-hornet

The long delayed superhero movie The Green Hornet is now in theaters with the most unlikeliest of stars behind the mask, funnyman Seth Rogen.  Surprisingly, the combination of Rogen, who also co-wrote the film, and non-action director Michel Gondry (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind) pays off more often than not.

The Green Hornet… A comedy?

October 21st, 2008

Green HornetFans were already apprehensive with the casting of Seth Rogen as The Green Hornet, one of the world’s oldest superheroes, and now they have a reason to be downright upset. With the hiring of director Stephen Chow (Kung Fu Hustle, Shaolin Soccer), it sounds like the movie is headed back towards being more of a comedy than the serious action flick “promised” a little while back.

Zack and Miri Make a Porno Unrated Poster

September 8th, 2008

Zack and Miri Make a Porno Movie PosterHave you guys seen the new movie poster for the upcoming Seth Rogen/Elizabeth Banks movie Zack and Miri Make a Porno? Written and directed by Kevin Smith, the comedy has been skirting the MPAA’s limits for quite some time. First the movie was nailed with an NC-17 rating, but who can blame the MPAA? After all, the flick is about two lifelong friends who, to pay off some debts, decide to make a porno together. Since the movie is about sex – well, fake sex – it’s only understandable that it gets pegged with a harsh rating that limits its distribution and box office potential.

Unfortunately, those liberal bastards at the MPAA gave in and changed the rating to R, which means that a whole lot of little kiddies will be subjected to such Kevin Smith filth.

The latest atrocity out of the studio is the new movie poster, which is offensive, vulgar and completely inappropriate for any American to set their eyes upon. Seriously, the studios – and vulgar master Kevin Smith – should censor their material more before subjecting such items to the American public. After all, in the day of the Internet, nothing will stay hidden for long, even if those do-gooders at the MPAA say the poster is inappropriate.

Thank God the MPAA is here to tell us how vulgar this Zack and Miri Make A Porno movie poster is. I mean, look at it. Look at the sexual innuendo! The almost nudity! The passionate looks in their faces! I feel dirty for just posting this poster on my blog.

R-Rated Zack and Miri Make a Porno Trailer

May 30th, 2008

Watch the funny new R-rated “teaser trailer” for Zack and Miri Make a Porno, the new Kevin Smith movie coming to theaters this October. The video isn’t as much an actual teaser trailer but a series of clips of Seth Rogen and Elizabeth Banks attempting to cast their porno. Warning: there are swear words, so if you are for some reason offended by such words, don’t watch.

Pineapple Express Movie Trailer

March 13th, 2008

Watch the rather unique movie trailer for the upcoming action comedy Pineapple Express, starring Seth Rogen and James Franco. I actually love this trailer. It isn’t downright hilarious, but the film looks like a blend between an indie action film and a Superbad-esque comedy… which, needless to say, isn’t seen too often. I especially love the part about where Franco is driving the police car and attempts to kick out the blood-soaked windshield, only to get his foot stuck in the windshield instead.

This may be 2008′s Hot Fuzz, but only time will tell. Watch the Pineapple Express movie trailer here:
