New The Pacific Video Clips from HBO

February 9th, 2010

The PacificHBO has posted two new video clips from their upcoming mini-series The Pacific, a 10-part drama that is, essentially, a sequel to the amazing Band of Brothers. Executive produced by Tom Hanks, Steven Spielberg and Gary Goetzman, The Pacific tracks the intertwined real-life stories of three U.S. Marines Robert Leckie, John Basilone and Eugene Sledge across the vast canvas of the Pacific Theater during World War II. The miniseries follows these men and their fellow Marines from their first battle with the Japanese on Guadalcanal, through the rain forests of Cape Gloucester and the strongholds of Peleliu, across the bloody sands of Iwo Jima and through the horror of Okinawa, and finally to their triumphant but uneasy return home after V-J Day.

The Pacific‘s release date is on March 16, 2010.

5-Minute The Day the Earth Stood Still Movie Trailer

October 30th, 2008

Check out this sweet five-minute movie trailer for The Day the Earth Stood Still, which stars Keanu Reeves and Jennifer Connelly. I was a bit wishy washy after the first teaser trailer, but this extended movie trailer presents some pretty damn cool scenes. Watch the trailer here:

Yet Another Dark Knight Movie Trailer

June 14th, 2008

I’ll provide my opinions on this one and the several other movie trailers that have been released in recent days later this week, but here’s the third, all-new movie trailer for the new Batman movie, The Dark Knight returns:

The movie trailer really doesn’t show much new footage, but things are presented in a different way. They are taking great care to slowly tune each marketing piece that comes to audiences, as this movie trailer is even better than the last. The music fades out in a couple weird spots, and I wish they would end the trailer with more of a money shot, but that’s just being picky.

R-Rated Zack and Miri Make a Porno Trailer

May 30th, 2008

Watch the funny new R-rated “teaser trailer” for Zack and Miri Make a Porno, the new Kevin Smith movie coming to theaters this October. The video isn’t as much an actual teaser trailer but a series of clips of Seth Rogen and Elizabeth Banks attempting to cast their porno. Warning: there are swear words, so if you are for some reason offended by such words, don’t watch.

Baghead Movie Trailer – Good, Bad or Ugly?

May 6th, 2008

I just watched the new Baghead movie trailer (embedded below), and I must say this movie has promise. It starts out looking like a slasher film, and then turns into a romantic comedy of sorts. A woman has a “dream” about a guy with a bag over his head watching her from the woods, and she and a group of friends – who are spending a few days at a cabin in the middle of nowhere – decide to make a movie about it. One guy has the hots for one of the women, and uses his role as her boyfriend in the film to make a move on her. That’s cute.

And then, back to horror movie! What if it wasn’t a dream that the woman had? What if there really was a stalker roaming around that wears a bag over his head? What if he gets angry?

At the very least, I’m curious. At the most, Baghead could be good fun. This kind of film can be tricky to pull off, however. First, having seen pictures and posters for the movie, I had no idea that the film was a horror flick. Even the trailer isn’t conclusive to the fact that there really is a bad person running around. So is it or is it not a horror film? If not, Sony Pictures Classics needs to make that clear. If it is, they also need to make it clear. If it is a comedy-horror film, then balance it out a little bit. It’s hard to tell, and that could spell disaster.

Is The Incredible Hulk Going to Suck?

April 30th, 2008

The new movie trailer for The Incredible Hulk, starring Ed Norton and Liv Tyler, was released today, and, much like the last trailer, it doesn’t win me over. The first trailer’s action sequences and visual effects were questionable, to say the least, and I was really hoping that a new trailer would prove me wrong. But, no! The Incredible Hulk movie trailer just reaffirms my suspicions: it’s going to have to have one hell of a screenplay to be good.

The action just looks cheesy, the visuals questionable. The Hulk seems to be captured in slow motion half the time, and that’s not a good thing.

Only time will tell, but with a lot of really cool comic book movies coming to theaters this summer, The Incredible Hulk could easily wind up in the gutter. Here’s the movie trailer:

Watch the New Hancock Movie Trailer!

April 24th, 2008

Check out the funny new movie trailer for the movie Hancock, starring Will Smith. Smith plays a bitter superhero who causes about as much damage as he does help people. Hancock really does look like another winner for Smith, as it looks like it should offer the perfect blend of comedy and action. Surprisingly, this film has been flying under the radar, but the buzz is bound to catch up at some point.

Here’s the new Hancock movie trailer:

Watch the New Prince Caspian Trailer

April 22nd, 2008

The new movie trailer for the upcoming sequel The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian is online in all its glory. The trailer is pretty good, having great setup with its slowly intensifying drum roll and more ominous visuals. Overall, the movie looks darker than its predecessor – and in fact one of the characters even makes note of that – which is a good thing.

Unfortunately, I got pumped up about the last Chronicles of Narnia and it ended up being underwhelming. Ultimately, the movies are still more geared towards children, which means these previews that show savage battles and intense fighting will not be nearly what they appear to be. What also concerns me is the lack of attention the trailer gives to the acting, most notably that of Ben Barnes, who plays the title character. He only gets one credited line in the trailer, and it’s a rather painfully delivered, “I am Prince Caspian.” I hope the line is just taken out of context, but I am not impressed.

Anyway, here’s the Prince Caspian movie trailer:

Is The Spirit Teaser Trailer Any Good?

April 21st, 2008

I just watched the teaser trailer for the upcoming Frank Miller film The Spirit, which was released yesterday. The Spirit has the same visual style as Sin City, which means that all of the fans who have been waiting for a Sin City sequel will at least be somewhat satisfied with something from the same vein.

I have no clue what The Spirit is about, but the visuals look pretty neat. The question will be: can Frank Miller, on his own, do what was clearly done by Robert Rodriguez before? The teaser trailer isn’t amazing and certainly doesn’t captivate the way that long Sin City ComiCon teaser did for us a few years earlier. The visuals are there, but not much happens to make us really excited for the film. I’m sure the next teaser will be a little more action packed, but here, all we get to see is some dude jumping around. There’s no real sense of seediness or suspense, and that’s a problem.

Still, for something to whet people’s appetites, it’s good enough.

Here’s The Spirit teaser trailer:

Hot New Movie: The Babysitters Movie Trailer

April 17th, 2008

Have you ever fantasized about the babysitter? Maybe just a little? I’m not a father and I don’t have kids, but I have to imagine one or two over the course of time has been tempted by a young beauty. A couple have probably given into their temptations, too. However, I can’t imagine too many have found themselves caught up in an illegal prostitution ring started by a high school girl looking to pay for college, and who will do anything to cover her tracks.

That’s the plot of The Babysitters, the upcoming film that opens in early May. I wouldn’t say the girls in the movie are steaming hot, but they’re good enough… who knows, maybe even more realistic.

I’ve added the new (very hot) movie poster, an image gallery and… the Babysitters movie trailer:

Bangkok Dangerous Trailer, and Trailer Review

April 1st, 2008

I just watched the movie trailer for Bangkok Dangerous, the new action movie starring Nicolas Cage. In it, Cage stars as an elusive assassin who finds himself in over his head when he takes a job where he is set up to kill a political figure in Bangkok, and ends up falling in love instead.

It looks like the pretty typical assassin movie, where the assassin finally gets a conscience and decides to turn on those who hired him. Bangkok Dangerous looks just okay, as there aren’t any bankable action sequences or on-screen events to really wow the audience, and Nic Cage looks to be playing just a variation of other characters he has done before. Despite the titlel, Bangkok Dangerous really doesn’t look all that sexy, exciting or smart, and that’s a problem.

Still, as mindless entertainment goes, we can hope that this one falls in line with Shooter. Watch the Bangkok Dangerous movie trailer below:

Movie Trailer Review: Get Smart Gets Less Funny

February 28th, 2008

Get Smart Movie PosterThe full movie trailer for the new Get Smart movie came out today, and while it still looks pretty funny, it doesn’t look nearly as funny as the Get Smart teaser trailer made it out to be.

The teaser trailer showed only a couple key scenes, but they were well constructed and perfectly timed. The phone booth scene is priceless and set the stage for the rest of the preview, but that scene is suspiciously missing from this full movie trailer.

The X-Files 2 Bootleg Movie Trailer

February 24th, 2008

A bootleg teaser trailer for The X-Files 2 from Wondercon has made its way online. It’s a little hard to tell exactly what the movie is about, but the shots of Mulder and Scully certainly draw great crowd reactions. Check out the movie trailer below, and hopefully an official version will arrive online soon enough.
