In Men in Black 3, Agents J (Will Smith) and K (Tommy Lee Jones) are back… in time. J has seen some inexplicable things in his 15 years with the Men in Black, but nothing, not even aliens, perplexes him as much as his wry, reticent partner. But when K’s life and the fate of the planet are put at stake, Agent J will have to travel back in time to put things right. J discovers that there are secrets to the universe that K never told him — secrets that will reveal themselves as he teams up with the young Agent K (Josh Brolin) to save his partner, the agency, and the future of humankind.

Enter now to win a Men in Black prize pack containing a water gun, a Frank the Pug bobble head and the movie on Blu-ray.

Men in Black 3 Movie Review

June 6th, 2012
men-in-black-3

Last time we saw Agent J and K, it was ten years ago and had something to do with a sexy, tentacled bad guy and a clueless Rosario Dawson walking around aimlessly for a couple of hours. No one was asking for another Men in Black, but director Barry Sonnenfeld is back again with Men in Black III, which has Will Smith traveling back in time in search of a funny concept. He doesn’t find one.

After a four year hiatus, Will Smith returns to theaters with Men in Black III, which reunites the star with co-star Tommy Lee Jones (and Josh Brolin, playing a younger version of Agent M). While the buzz for the sequel isn’t nearly as strong as some other movies debuting this summer, Will Smith’s box office potential should not be underestimated: his movies have raked in well over a billion dollars and multiple Oscar nominations.

Now seems like the perfect time to look at the best Will Smith movies, dating back nearly 20 years (now doesn’t that make you feel old?).

Men in Black 3 Trailer Says It’s Time to End this Franchise

March 6th, 2012
men-in-black-3

I loved the first Men in Black movie. Its sequel, the intelligently titled Men in Black 2, was mediocre at best, but still entertaining at times. Now, Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones are back for another dose of J and K, but I have a feeling I’ll be less interested in the film’s time travel storyline and more interested in checking my watch to see how much longer remains before I can leave the theater and do something more entertaining.

DVD Review: Seven Pounds, Starring Will Smith

March 28th, 2009

Seven Pounds DVD CoverWill Smith is one of the most consistent box office forces there is. Even his intentionally misspelled 2007 drama The Pursuit of Happyness went on to make well over $100 million in the United States.

So, the odds were good that his 2008 follow-up Seven Pounds, which is directed by the same man, Gabriele Muccino, would continue Smith’s streak of consecutive $100-million earners.

Unfortunately for Smith – though we can hardly feel sorry for his rare flop – audiences read right through the obscure previews and opted to not see the flick – or at least wait until DVD. It was a good choice.

New Hancock Movie Pictures

July 4th, 2008

Hancock Movie Picture Will SmithI finally got around to updating the Hancock image gallery today; I added over 15 new movie pictures for the superhero action movie Hancock, starring Will Smith, Jason Bateman and Charlize Theron. Check out the Hancock movie pictures.

The movie is about a drunk of a man (Will Smith) who just happens to be the only superpowered being on Earth. While he saves people at times, he is pretty careless about his actions, leaving people to become frustrated with the so-called hero. After he really gets himself in trouble, though, his newfound PR agent (Jason Bateman) convinces him to turn his act around and become the person everyone expects him to be. That synopsis is based on what I’ve seen from the previews – I’m not going to go see Hancock until tomorrow unfortunately.

Watch the New Hancock Movie Trailer!

April 24th, 2008

Check out the funny new movie trailer for the movie Hancock, starring Will Smith. Smith plays a bitter superhero who causes about as much damage as he does help people. Hancock really does look like another winner for Smith, as it looks like it should offer the perfect blend of comedy and action. Surprisingly, this film has been flying under the radar, but the buzz is bound to catch up at some point.

Here’s the new Hancock movie trailer:

I Am Legend Opens Really, Really Big

December 15th, 2007

I Am LegendAfter a disastrous weekend a week ago with The Golden Compass falling hard and fast, the box office has been revitalized by I Am Legend. The Will Smith-starring sci-fi flick opened to a huge $29.7 million on Friday alone, which means that the movie is destined to make between $70 and $80 million over the three day weekend.

This is the injection the box office so desperately needed, and once again cements Will Smith’s place at the top of box office leaders. With exception to a few stumbles (mostly dramas), Smith can open movies big, and I Am Legend is his biggest yet. Not only does I Am Legend‘s opening beat the $62 million summer opening of Smith’s I, Robot, but it will likely surpass the number one December opening previously held by The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King‘s $72 million. Amazing!

I Am Legend opened on 3,606 theaters. In comparison, The Golden Compass – in its second weekend – earned only $2.6 million on Friday from almost as many theaters.
