Review: ‘Spring Breakers’ is Not For Disney Princesses

March 22nd, 2013
spring-breakers

The Walt Disney Company presents a new family friendly film starring two of its very own princesses – Selena Gomez and Vanessa Hudgens – all but assuring a new franchise that will eventually be spun into an ABC Family sitcom. It’s Spring Breakers, an innocent film about innocent Amish girls who find themselves stranded in Florida during Spring Break.

Review: ’21 and Over’ is ‘The Hangover’ for College

February 28th, 2013
21-and-over

Drinking games. Projectile vomiting. Teddy bears glued to penises. That pretty much sums up my college experience, which has been adapted to the big screen in the form of 21 & Over, by the writers of The Hangover. A few alterations have been made: most notably, I am now a five-foot-tall Asian student.

Miles Teller/Justin Chon Interview #2: Life After 21 & Over

February 27th, 2013
21-and-over-justin-chon

We recently sat down with Miles Teller and Justin Chon, stars of the new movie 21 & Over (in theaters March 1, 2013) and asked them such serious questions as what is it like to walk buck-ass naked save for a tube sock on the University of Washington campus with real students standing around, kissing other men and acting drunk (or just being drunk).

We had a chance to sit down with Jon Lucas and Scott Moore, the writers of a little indie film known as The Hangover and the writers and directors of the new movie 21 & Over (in theaters March 1, 2013), which can best be described as a college-aged version of… The Hangover.

Watch the New Spring Breakers Red Band Trailer

February 23rd, 2013

Selena Gomez may have been a Disney princess, but she isn’t anymore. The off-and-on Bieber bombshell stars in the clearly R-rated crime thriller Spring Breakers, alongside Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Benson, Rachel Korine and a very sleazy looking James Franco, which at the very least looks like a steamy and deranged film.

Review: ‘Beautiful Creatures’

February 13th, 2013
beautiful-creatures

The next Twilight franchise is here, but with a twist:  Beautiful Creatures, about a teenage boy who is drawn to a strange girl who has a strange family (sound familiar?), actually has intelligent writing. Shocking. Breathtaking. And kind of fun.

Review: ‘The Inbetweeners’ Isn’t Original, But Fun

January 14th, 2013
inbetweeners-movie

In the vein of every movie about awkward teenagers attempting to lose their virginity, The Inbetweeners Movie follows four friends as they travel to a tropical locale to have some fun and get laid (or at the very least don’t embarrass themselves). Based on a British television show, the movie defies expectations to be one of the funnier movies of the year.

September 28th, 2012

As the fall movie season picks up, a film that is likely to go overlooked is quietly expanding: The Perks of Being a Wallflower, an entertaining and well made drama-comedy starring Logan Lerman, Ezra Miller and Emma Watson.

‘Bachelorette’ Tries to Be Bridesmaids, Fails

September 7th, 2012
bachelorette-movie-2012

A year after Bridesmaids rocked theaters comes Bachelorette, a movie that is worlds apart in tone, humor and, unfortunately, entertainment value. The Kirsten Dunst-starring film wants to be funny but fails miserably, and that’s all you need to know.

Ever since his career-making turn in 1999′s 10 Things I Hate About You, Joseph Gordon-Levitt has proven he has an eye for choosing rewarding, versatile projects (we’ll ignore G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra). Joseph Gordon-Levitt is one of the most talented actors working today, and while he has yet to earn an Academy Award nomination, it’s only a matter of time.

With The Dark Knight Rises still plugging along and the Gordon-Levitt-starring Premium Rush in theaters this week, now is a perfect time to look at the accomplished actor’s best movies.

American Reunion Hits Blu-Ray, DVD and 57 Other Formats

July 9th, 2012
american-reunion

American Reunion is now available to own, and comes in so many formats half of the Blu-ray cover is devoted to explaining them all. The combo pack includes Blu-Ray, DVD, digital copy and Ultraviolet formats, and I’m pretty sure there is a way to watch it on your watch, too. Funny enough, there’s also an “All-New Movie” sticker on the package, which makes me think Universal is afraid that people will confuse the movie with the original American Pie.
