1873. Arizona Territory. A stranger (Craig) with no memory of his past stumbles into the hard desert town of Absolution. The only hint to his history is a mysterious shackle that encircles one wrist. What happens when you combine James Bond, Indiana Jones, the director of Iron Man, cowboys and aliens - oh, and Olivia Wilde - stir them all up in a $160-million-budgeted pot and launch the resulting sci-fi western to the big screen? Not what you'd think. Mildly enjoyable but ultimately disappointing, Cowboys & Aliens has the elements of success, except director Jon Favreau forgot to make it fun.
