One of the most anticipated films of summer 2004 was the $130,000 indie film Open Water, a thriller that claimed to be a cross between The Blair Witch Project and Jaws. July 2, 2004With Hollywood throwing millions at mediocre, high definition special effects and poorly written scripts it is becoming painfully obvious that the true talent in cinema entertainment and innovative concepts lies with the up and coming independent film makers who are reliant on their imaginations. Films such as THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT and FAHRENHEIT 9/11 have earned the respect of many movie-goers who grow tied of regurgitated scripts that have high-dollar budgets and name-brand actors but offer little entertainment value for the buck and lack creative spirit.
