The Frighteners (1996) - Movie Details

Frank Bannister never expected anyone to take his business seriously, or believe him. He runs a "spirit clearance" business, using his two best friends, which just happen to be ghosts, as his associates. They pretend to be a poltergeist, he "rids" the house they are haunting of them, and gets paid. It doesn't matter if everyone thinks he's a looney bin or a crook.

Way back in 1996, no one knew who Peter Jackson was. In fact, he had never directed a film outside of New Zealand before.
