The Hours follows three different women in three different times. One is author Virginia Woolf, who is suffering from depression and is thinking of suicide while writing what will be the classic "Mrs. Dalloway" in 1923. The second is Laura Brown, a pregnant housewife who can't stop reading Woolf's book, and third is Clarissa Vaughn, a modern day woman who is throwing a party for her ex-lover who is dying of AIDS....
