Probably the least obscure of the five movies nominated for Best Picture, "The Pianist" tells the true story of Wladyslaw Szpilman, a Polish pianist who avoided the Nazi concentration camps, at the cost of losing all he held dear. I loved this movie so much that I made my mother watch it I have seen it many times and it still makes me cry at every part that is the saddest. . .I suggest you see it.
