Movie Review

What would you do if you were standing in an empty lobby with only one other man - director Oliver Stone. Would you go up and talk to him, and say his latest movie, "World Trade Center," was good, or would you tell him the truth and say it was bad? Or, would you do as I did when presented with the opportunity, and just keep your mouth shut and wait to tear the movie apart on the Internet? Full movie review »

I can't believe that someone could actually give this film a "C", I mean its not right for this movie I felt the heart and soul in this film. I never have really cared for Nicholas Cage, but I give him alot of respect for the role that he has brought upon himself. The way that this movie was made was excellant. They really wanted to make this film as true as possible. I found that having his thoughts made like it was in the film was great to let people know how strong and powerful thinking that you are about to die feels. You think about everything in a split second is the way they pertray it.

After reading this review, I have to comment on the reviewers lack of research into the event itself. Specifically the book "102 Minutes" which tells the story of 9/11 from the perspective of the survivors and the transcripts of phone calls and voice mails of many of those killed in the two towers.

The ex-military guy at the end was an actual rescuer at the scene. He was down and out and really at the end of his rope when the disaster happened. He put on his uniform and went the to ground zero right after the towers collapsed. He walked through the rubble calling out his name and rank and looking for survivors. He was crucial to the rescue of these two survivors.

The vision of Jesus by Jimeno is evidently fact, according to him. He had this vision while trapped in the rubble. There are many stories from that day that boggle the mind and are almost unbelievable - it was such an anomalous event that unusual things were commonplace.

There are images that Stone could have used but evidently didnt. One that was described was of red clothing that looked like it had been discarded on the plaza between the two towers. These turned out to be the remains of the people who jumped. This is an image that would have been seared into the minds of anyone seeing it, but Stone evidently felt it was too horrifiying and was probably right.

Just do your research before you decry parts of this story - the information is easily available to anyone willing to find it.

I'm not sure I understand where you are going with the "conspiracy theory" comment macresarf1. But I find the giuliani phone debacle pretty interested I had not heard about it until now. There are many official claims about 9/11 that would raise anyone's eyebrow who is not completely blinded by their patriotism (sean hannity and the likes). I am dissapointed that Stone doesn't go into this more in the movie. Building 7 falling perfectly into its footprint hours later after never being hit by a plane at all. You know how many building have collapsed from fire in history? NONE.
And that building just happen to have CIA offices as well as held millions of corporate documents that would prove any wrong doing.

This movie was made way too soon! And a C? If you're going to do a movie on this event, at least do it right. From what I've heard, People just aren't ready to see a movie like this.
