Batman and Robin (1997) - Movie Review
Batman and Robin had cool graphics and an all-star cast. This movie proved that was not enough. Though Mr. Freeze looked cool, he was restricted to lame, few-word lines. Poison Ivy looked like an idiot and her "love potion" was incredibly stupid. Bane was in the movie but he deserved his own; he shouldn't have been a mindless minion with a fake-looking costume. Alicia Silverstone did her worst job yet and just for the hell of it they had to have Alfred almost die. They threw in Bruce's fiancé for an extra but cut out the part where she dumped him. The story was lame as well; Mr. Freeze freezes the city and Batman directs sunlight from the other side of the world, via satellites, to melt everything. Batman and Robin seemed more like a science-fiction movie than the dark, semi-realistic world that he should have (a la Tim Burton). Joel Schumacher is not the right man for the job, aiming the movie at younger kids but forgetting that the first two attracted an older audience.
