Bride of Chucky Movie Review
I have only seen tidbits of the Child Play movies, but hopefully they're a little better than Bride of Chucky, the latest Child Play movie. Actually, this movie was surprisingly better than what I expected, but it still isn't that great of a film.
Jennifer Tilly is Tiffany, Chucky's ex-girlfriend who still has a flame for him after all these years. She reincarnates him but learns that he was never really planning on marrying her, and so she locks him in a cage. Of course, Chucky breaks out and kills her, and reincarnates her into a doll.
Chucky starts a killing spree again and two teenage romantics are caught up in the plot and, of course, Chucky tries to reincarnate himself and his bride into them. The couple is acted well and Tilly and Dourif do about as decent as they can as just voices, although Tilly's voice gets annoying real fast.
One thing I do like about this movie is the cameos they have. In the very beginning, they show Jason's mask and chainsaw, Mike Myer's mask, Freddy's gloves, and later on, one of Chucky's victims ends up looking incredibly like Hellraiser.
Unfortunately, the movie isn't scary and not that funny either. There isn't much plot and the characters are pretty fake. And, the worst part of all; Chucky and Tiffany, both as dolls, have a sex scene. Since when did dolls come with penises?
Bride of Chucky was no where as bad as I expected it to be, and it had a few funny parts, but it's not a winner.
