Proof that putting a bunch of funny men together in the same room doesn't guarantee a funny movie, Grown Ups is a comedy so bland it's actually funny to think that Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Chris Rock, David Spade and Rob Schneider all thought they had a gem on their hands.

The movie is not without its funny moments, namely a few random bits that appear in most Sandler comedies. The actors, which also include Salma Hayek, Maria Bello, Maya Rudolph and Joyce Van Patten, appear to be having fun, and that rubs off on the picture's entertainment value.

Aside from a few trademark toilet jokes, Grown Ups is pretty harmless - far from the complete disaster many critics described it as. Yet, the movie is wholly uninteresting, a random spattering of scenes that are taped together to form something that some people may confuse to be a plot.

Grown Ups is funny at times, but more often than not is generic, bland and a complete waste of the talent involved. When compared to most other Adam Sandler movies, it becomes obvious just how short the film falls.
