Saving Grace (2000) - Movie Review
One of the most well received movies of 2000 was the British comedy Saving Grace, a movie about marijuana without the pot smoking clichés.
When a woman finds out that her deceased husband has left her 300,000 pounds in debt, she isn't sure how she's going to pay things off. That is until she becomes partners with her slacker gardener and begins growing marijuana with plans to tell it to a dealer and pay off her debts. Brenda Blethyn and Craig Ferguson star, turning in great performances in a great film.
Saving Grace is funny from beginning to end. Even though it's a movie about pot, most of the jokes aren't drug related. In most respects it is a movie the whole family can watch, but slightly older audiences will appreciate it much more, as a smartly-written and fun comedy.
