Star Trek: Generations (1994) - Movie Review
Don't read past this sentence if you don't want to know what happens because I am going to let off a little steam. How could they do it? How could they kill Captain Kirk? First, Captain Kirk and the rest of the old crew shouldn't have been in Generations in the first place. Second, Kirk at least shouldn't have survived. Third, he definitely shouldn't have died in the "Next Generation" time period. It's just not fair to all the years Shatner put into the series and the six movies devoted to him.
Besides his death, the rest of the movie wasn't that great either. The graphics were okay but nothing to sneeze about; it could have easily been the television show. They overdid Data's emotion chip scenes and some of the characters were quite excluded. The story wasn't anything special and Generations lacked the amount of action Star Trek 6 did. Still, one of the worst parts is that the whole Klingon sequence was a mere copy of Star Trek 6... literally!
Star Trek: Generations is sub par to some of the "Next Generation" episodes... but hey, we get to see the Enterprise crash into a planet!
