Welcome to Collinwood Movie Review
A good ensemble cast does not necessarily make for a good movie. Such is the case with Welcome to Collinwood, a drab and unfunny comedy caper about a bunch of stupid low-class criminals that plot together to pull off a grand heist.
Sam Rockwell, Jennifer Esposito, Luis Guzman, William H. Macy and George Clooney all have roles in this stupid movie, all as less-than-honorable people that have little going for them. The way the characters are written, the audience is expected to be sympathetic for them for the sole reason that they are idiots. It is quite a waste of good talent.
The problem with Welcome to Collinwood is that it isn't funny. Enough said, right?
Some people may find this kind of film entertaining, but the vast majority will find it just as boring and stupid as I did. Welcome to Collinwood is like Snatch, only without the fast-paced directing, the clever script and the British accents. What does that leave? Not much, I'm afraid.
