White Chicks Movie Review
Shawn and Marlon Wayans star in brother Keenan's follow-up to the successful Scary Movie franchise with the frightfully unfunny White Chicks, a comedy about two black male FBI Agents who disguise themselves as white socialite females to discover the identity of a kidnapper.
Little else needs to be known about the plot, but let's set the record straight - Shawn and Marlon Wayans are the ugliest women ever to grace the big screen. Most jarring is that the movie treats them as if they were hot; guys lust after them and their best friends don't even recognize the difference. This alone is enough to discredit White Chicks, as everything it is based on is completely and utterly unbelievable. Mrs. Doubtfire and Tootsie are one thing, but these two guys dressed up like women look like something out of a horror movie - maybe that's why White Chicks is being released a few days before Halloween. They're utterly creepy and anything but beautiful.
Aside from the poor cosmetics, White Chicks is even worse than I was imagining, but not in the way I was expecting. Coming from the guys who did gross-out work in Scary Movie and Scary Movie 2, I was expecting a horribly grotesque and vulgar film. At least that still could've been funny. Instead, White Chicks is a boring, PG-13 comedy that fails to capitalize on so many things in such a short period of time. There are so many opportunities to be perverted and humorous in a very disturbing kind of way, but the most adult concept Keenan Ivory shows is a very tamed down and pathetic joke about dildos.
Little else can be said. White Chicks could have been a really bad film with gross-out humor, but instead it's a really bad film that's just really boring. Honestly, I would have preferred the alternative.
