Assassins (1995) - Movie Synopsis & Plot

Richard Rath is the best assassin out there, a result of the Cold War. But the Cold War is over. He wants out. After one more mark. That's one mark too many.

His mark is a woman named Elektra, her real name long since expired. She's an information super-thief, an expert at computers. She also wants out but has fallen too deep to just walk away. And she learns it the hard way.

In the largest deal of her life, her intricate plot is turned upside down when an assassin named Miguel Bain, hired to kill the same mark by the same boss, attempts to kill her. Rath arrives just in time and instead of killing her, rescues her. The disk that she carries holds some very valuable information and Bain will do anything to get it; Rath will do anything to protect it.

There's more than meets the eye. Richard Rath is Bain's idol. In his eyes, Rath is the best. And also in his eyes, he knows that to become the best, he needs to destroy the best. Which means killing Rath. And Elektra. The two targets join forces to protect themselves but Bain is behind them every step of the way, knowing their every move. It's only a matter of time before a bullet meets one of them. Or both.
