Donnie Darko (2001) - Movie Synopsis & Plot

In October of 1988, a jet engine crashes through the wall of Donnie Darko's bedroom. Luckily, he had been lured to a golf course the night before by a vision of a man in a demented rabbit costume. The FAA reports that no plane crashed, so Donnie goes on with his freakish life, a blend of a superior intellect and psychotic episodes, helped partially by his severe anti-depressant medicine. But his visions of the rabbit come over often, and it tells him to do things he normally wouldn't do.
