Excess Baggage (1997) - Movie Synopsis & Plot

Emily Hope is a teenage girl neglected by her father who has just gone to the extreme to get attention. She has kidnapped herself. Placing herself in the trunk of her BMW, she is minutes away from being found by the police. In those minutes, however, Vincent Roche, professional car thief, steals her car.

Upon discovering her, he realizes that he is in deep trouble. If he is caught, not only will he be accused of stealing her car, but kidnapping her as well. Intent on letting her go, he finds it isn't that easy. And Ray Perkins, friend of Emily's father and an ex-CIA agent, is hot on his trail, determined to clear Emily's name, even if it means framing Vincent. Things get even more complicated when buyers associated with Vincent's company get mad, wanting their money back after his warehouse is suspiciously burned down. But, amidst all this, Emily and Vincent are about to find something more important. Each other.
