G.I. Jane - Movie Synopsis & Plot
Lt. Jordan O'Neil has just been selected to be a test case for the military. She is to be the first woman to ever be allowed to participate in the training of the highly covert unit Navy SEALs. With a 60% failure rate among men, O'Neil is expected by everyone- her master chief, boyfriend, and even her sponsoring senator- to fail within the first week. However, with cunning determination and a willingness to continue on, she surpasses all expectations, proving she is more than worthy material. Still, most of her higher-ranking officials do not want to see her succeed for it could jeopardize everything the SEALs are about.
But, during a routine training mission in the Mediterranean, O'Neil and the trainees are thrown into full-blown combat to save a unit stranded in the Middle East. Skills put to the test, they set out alone to recover their fallen comrades and save their injured master chief from certain death. O'Neil, herself, finds herself in charge and she must show that she has what it takes to command a unit in the most deadly scenario she has ever been in.
