Godzilla (1998) - Movie Synopsis & Plot

A freighter is overturned in the South Pacific. Three fishing boats are pulled under in the Atlantic. Giant footprints lead to the ocean in Panama.

New York: The city that never sleeps. It comes without warning, from the depths of the ocean, and catches an entire city of guard. Buildings crumble, cars flatten, and people run in terror as a giant lizard, dubbed Godzilla by a Japanese fisherman, rampages through the city.

Now, the army, navy, media, and a biologist must join forces to battle the surprisingly intelligent, ultimately invincible Godzilla. Heat-seeking missiles insufficient, radar unusable, they must come up with another way to take down the deadly beast. And one man is about to learn the horrifying truth: It's pregnant.
