Independence Day (1996) - Movie Synopsis & Plot

On July 2, 1996, the question of whether alien life exists or not was answered. Their intentions unknown, their identity unrevealed, the President of the United States, as well as every single person in the entire world, are uncertain of their motives. But one man stumbles across the truth, the horrifying reality of it all. The large ships are positioning themselves over every major city in the world, placing the nations' satellites inoperative. Some see a new era of peace, he sees their unbeatable strategy. And he finds a radio signal inside the United States' own satellite system. A countdown sequence.

In one horrifying moment, millions die. The aliens strike without warning, destroying our cities, killing countless innocents. The counterattack proves worthless, the ships impenetrable, their technology far advanced. But, as humans face utter defeat and extinction, we must fight back one last time before it's too late...
