Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark - Movie Synopsis & Plot
It is 1936. Indiana Jones, archaeologist, university professor, and adventurer fends off a large array of primitive booby traps to retrieve a priceless golden godhead. After escaping more booby traps, including a rolling boulder and collapsing floors, he gets out into the open only to have the godhead snatched away by rival archaeologist Paul Freeman who is now employed by the Nazis.
Arriving back in the States, he is told by Government officials that the Germans have located the site of the ark of the covenant (where the broken ten commandments were sealed), thinking it to contain a vast amount of destructive power which Hitler wants to use to pursue his goal of global conquest.
After accidentally receiving the help of an old girlfriend in Nepal, Indiana Jones heads to Cairo where the digging is taking place. Facing deadly Arab assassins, Nazis, venomous snakes, and so forth, he is determined to get the ark, or destroy it, before the Nazis can use it's awesome power.
