Krippendorf's Tribe Movie Synopsis & Plot

James Krippendorf is a well-renowned anthropologist who's been struggling to support his three children, alone. For the last two years, he has been living off grant money from the university to find a lost tribe in New Guinea. Now, they want him to give a presentation of his findings; unfortunately, he has found nothing. There is no tribe, there is no money, and soon, for him, there will be no job. So, he lies about the newfound tribe, the Shelmikedmu, and falls farther and farther into a hole. And, he gives such unusual clues that they want him to broadcast his documentation: film. In a matter of days, he must make a tribe of his own, out of his own kids, and fool an entire nation.

MOVIE REVIEW

Krippendorf's Tribe is neither funny nor amusing. It consists of the same bland formula that has been played out countless times, featuring the idiotic charade of creating false characters to be comical. Krippendorf's Tribe is about the least-intriguing of them all, despite having Richard Dreyfuss. Yawn you will while watching this boring film and never again will you rent it. The same formula has been used countless times in the past; Mrs. Doubtfire, The Associate, and now Krippendorf's Tribe prove that the genre is dead.
