Lost in Space (1998) - Movie Synopsis & Plot

The Robinson family has set out from a dying Earth to the only habitable planet apparent in the galaxy. However, when their ship is sabotaged 16 hours into flight, they find themselves caught in the sun's gravitational pull. Their only recourse; to switch to hyperdrive, which, although going the speed of light, has no control over the destination.

The Robinson's and their pilot awaken in an uncharted world, thousands of light years from home. But then there's the ship. One of theirs, marked Proteus, but it is nothing like anything they've seen before. And the last records of the captain, the pilot's ex-partner, only older. And the strange beings that exist inside, deadly and dangerous beyond belief. Then they crash on the planet, barren and lifeless. But what about the strange debris found there, decades old. Marked with the so familiar words, Jupiter 2. Their ship. Not only are they lost in space, but in time.
