Mary Reilly (1996) - Movie Synopsis & Plot

Mary Reilly is a lonely maid, her past shadowing beatings of her abusive father. But now she has things better, working for an esteemed doctor. Dr. Jekyll is smart, kind, and handsome and she idolizes the ground he walks on.

But things are changing. Dr. Jekyll is beginning to seclude himself and cancel appointments. His public appearances are becoming fewer and fewer. And then there's his assistant, the brutally evil Mr. Hyde, who only can be seen at night. He is disturbingly dark, able to kill without remorse and mercy.

Mary Reilly knows Dr. Jekyll is hiding something. Something unbelievably sinister. Something that will forever change her life.
