Onegin (1999) - Movie Synopsis & Plot

Eugene Onegin is an aristocrat from St. Petersburg who falls upon a quaint country town after inheriting his uncle's estate. There, through a new friend, he meets Tatyana, a vivacious young woman. Soon, she has fallen hopelessly in love with him, but he not with her. Her heart shattered, she watches as he moves in on her sister, but the real jealousy sits within Onegin's friend, Vladimir Lensky, who, in a fit of passionate jealousy, declares a duel.

Six years after killing Lensky, Onegin returns to the countryside and meets Tatyana once again. This time, though, he falls hopelessly in love with her, only to his dismay she is now married to his cousin.
