Phenomenon (1996) - Movie Synopsis & Plot

ith one flash of light and one magnificent boom that knocks him to his knees, typical nice guy George Malley is transformed into a wonderfully gifted man. The days and weeks following his 37th birthday, George begins to realize something strange has happened to him. Unable to sleep, his curiosity is driven to new levels as he begins to read and understand everything around him. Upon one look, he can memorize an entire foreign language, or ponder new theories that the greatest scientists haven't come up with. Everything around him is becoming focused...

And his friends are stepping back. Not only are they astonished, and afraid, of his newfound knowledge, but they are frightened to death of his powers. For somehow, George has been gifted with telekenisis, and no one can comprehend what he is.

Still, while some of his friends become foreign to him, one woman will be loyal to George. Her name is Lace and George is about to teach her what's really important in life: love.
