Speed (1994) - Movie Synopsis & Plot

Jack Traven knew from the start that it wasn't a routine hostage situation; the terrorist was still in the building. Along with his partner, Harry, he accesses the elevator shafts and finds the man in one of the service elevators. After a close call, Jack takes control, only to have the terrorist take his life in a fiery blast.

Shortly after, Jack gets a message. A bus carrying one of his friends is destroyed, killing everyone on board. And then he gets a phone call. The terrorist that he thought was dead is alive and has planted a bomb on a bus carrying several passengers. When it goes above fifty miles per hour, the bomb is triggered; if it drops below fifty, it goes off, killing everyone on board.

In a daring maneuver, Jack boards the bus and takes control. The bomb has been triggered and he has to keep it above fifty, no matter what the cost. Meanwhile, the hunt for the terrorist goes on, but it is only a matter of time before the bus hits a dead end. It is a race against time.
