3 billion people will die on August 29, 1997, shortly after Skynet, the thinking computers that humans created, became self-aware. In the aftermath of nuclear war, the remaining humans, led by John Conner, will rise up and retaliate against the machines.

To rid themselves of the rebel leader, the machines sent a Terminator back in time to 1984 to assassinate Sarah Conner before John was born. That Terminator failed.

Now, in 1991, a T1000 has been sent back in time to kill John Conner as a child. But just like before, the John Conner in the future was able to send back protection...
